Bruce Power and its partners are donating $2 million to the Kincardine Hospital Redevelopment Capital Campaign.
Bruce Power itself is donating $1.5 million while it’s partners are kicking in $500,000.
This is on top of the $1 million dollars Bruce Power pledged for the hospital’s CT scanner.
The Building Health Care for Generations campaign is looking to raise $12 million dollars towards the $65 million Phase 1 Redevelopment Project at the Kincardine hospital.
It includes modernizing and expanding the emergency department, improving diagnostic imaging, enhancing the outpatient lab, and building a new decontamination room. The latter is part of the nuclear industry’s emergency preparedness program.
The province is expected to cover 90 per cent of the project’s costs.
