St. Thomas man charged with breaking into home, resisting arrest

St. Thomas police are crediting an observant neighbour for stopping a break-in over the weekend.

The person called police after spotting someone they didn’t know at their neighbour’s house just after 5 p.m. on Saturday. Officers arrived to find the home had been broken into and a purse stolen from the homeowner.

A 36-year-old man was arrested nearby.

“The male resisted being arrested but was eventually brought under control,” police said.

The man is charged with break and enter and resisting arrest.
