Ontario’s mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinic is returning to London on Sunday.
The Middlesex London Health Unit has announced the GO-VAXX bus will be at the South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre parking lot at 1119 Jalna Boulevard from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It offers first, second and booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to those who are eligible. The aim of the mobile clinic is to reduce barriers for those who have yet to get the shot because of convenience and limited transportation options.
“Anyone who would like to receive a dose of vaccine must book an appointment in advance by visiting covid19.ontariohealth.ca/ and following the instructions under the Book your vaccine appointment section of the webpage or call 1-833-943-3900 to reach the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre,” the health unit said in a statement. “When booking over the phone, remember to mention the appointment is for a GO-VAXX bus COVID-19 clinic.”
Appointments for the GO-VAXX bus can be booked beginning at 8 p.m. on Saturday and cannot be made through the regular Middlesex-London booking site.
This is the fourth time the provincial mobile vaccination clinic has visited London. The last time was on January 16 when it spent seven hours in the east-end.
The GO-VAXX bus, operated in partnership with Metrolinx, has been traveling across the province, making stops at malls, community hubs, festivals, and special events since the fall of last year. All COVID-19 public health safety measures are followed on board, including pre-entry symptom screening, mandatory face covering while inside, and post-vaccination monitoring.
