The Municipality of Kincardine, along with the Kincardine BIA and Chamber of Commerce, is conducting a review of the Promenade on Queen and seeking public feedback through an online survey.
The event closed Queen Street in Kincardine to vehicle traffic every weekend throughout the summer to promote downtown businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A survey of the downtown businesses was conducted in the fall with the majority of businesses (~70%) indicating they would like Promenade on Queen to continue. This new survey looks to the public – including residents, visitors, and previous Promenade attendees – for input on the Promenade on Queen.
The Municipality is also hopeful that traditional downtown events, such as the Scottish Pipe Band, Cruise Nights and Market in the Park, will continue if public health restrictions allow this year.
The results of the public input, a survey conducted with downtown businesses as well as data collected on audience attendance, will inform a staff recommendation to Council in early March on the Promenade on Queen.
The survey is available on kincardinetalks.ca/promenade-review until February 11, 2022.
