A Morris-Turnberry resident faces several charges following an incident that saw the accused use a tractor in an attempt to get away from police.
Huron County Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver near Brussels during the evening of Saturday, January 22nd.
According to a release, officers located the suspect vehicle as it was being pulled out of the ditch on Pierre Line in Huron East, but the suspect had fled the scene and was now driving a farm tractor.
About an hour after the original call, officers stopped the tractor, but the driver allegedly refused to exit the vehicle and drove away.
Police followed the tractor as it drove into a ditch, and then into a field, and shortly after officers located the accused running on foot towards Moncrieff Road, where they were arrested and taken into custody.
A 33-year-old from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with Operation while Impaired, Flight from Peace Officer and Refusal to Comply with Demand.
A release says the accused refused to provide a breath sample.
The accused has a court appearance scheduled for March 7th in Goderich and the charges have yet to be proven in court.
