Suspended licence leads to drug charges

St. Thomas police officers made an arrest while on patrol late Saturday night.

The St. Thomas Police Service (STPS) said, in a release, that a vehicle on Pearl Street was stopped after the driver was recognized as having a suspended licence.

“The driver was arrested for driving while disqualified and driving while suspended,” the release read.

While stopped, police said that drugs were located in the vehicle.

The driver was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and four counts of breaching a probation order.
