Even though many are still digging out from Monday’s brutal winter storm, there is a chance more snow could fall Tuesday.
Snow squalls have developed off Lake Huron and could bring 10 to 20 cm of snow to the region by the noon hour.
Environment Canada has issued a snow squall watch for London, Parkhill, and eastern Middlesex County. A snow squall warning is in effect for Oxford County.
“Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather,” the national weather agency said in a statement. “Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.”
The snow squalls are expected to weaken late Tuesday morning.
On Monday, around 18 cm of snow fell across the city, prompting numerous bus cancellations and a slow morning commute. No serious collisions were reported, but police were called to multiple fender-benders.
Side streets in London that have yet to see the plow should be cleared by Tuesday evening.
