Stabbing leaves man with life threatening injuries

A stabbing near downtown London early Monday morning has left a man in hospital fighting for life.

London police were called to Oxford Street west of Richmond Street about a possible stabbing around 5:30 a.m.

Officers arrived on scene and found a man suffering from a life threatening stab wound. He was taken to hospital where he was listed in critical conditions as of late Monday morning.

An adult man has been arrested. No names or ages have been released and charges have yet to be laid.

“Police do not believe that this was a random incident and there is no ongoing risk to public safety,” police said.

Approximately ten police cruisers and the forensic identification van remained on scene around 9 a.m. The front entrance to a highrise at 205 Oxford Street had been  cordoned off with yellow police tape and blood stained clothing could be seen laying in the westbound lanes of the street.
