Masked trio on ATV attacks, robs man in east London: Police

London police were asking the public for help on Monday in identifying three suspects after a man was stabbed and robbed in the city’s east end.

Police say it was about 1:15 a.m. on Sunday when three men on an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) approached a man who was on his cellphone near the intersection of Hilton Avenue and Whitney Street, a residential area west of the Clarke Road-Dundas Street intersection.

One of the three suspects took the man’s cellphone, police said, adding that when the victim attempted to get it back, all three suspects assaulted him.

One of the suspects produced a knife and stabbed the victim before the trio left the area on the ATV, police said.

A number of officers showed up to the scene, and a search of the area did not locate the suspects or a knife, police said.

The victim suffered injuries not considered life-threatening and was taken to hospital, police said.

Police provided the following suspect descriptions:

  • A white male in a white hoodie, grey pants and a black ski mask
  • A white male in a red sweater, black pants and a black ski mask
  • A white male in a grey hoodie, black pants, black gloves and a black ski mask.

Their vehicle is described as a red, older-model ATV.

Anyone who may have been in the area of Hilton Avenue and Whitney Street between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. or who may have dashboard-camera or surveillance footage is asked to call London police at 519-661-5670.

82-year-old killed in weekend crash

An 82-year-old from East Huron is dead after a single-vehicle crash in rural Huron County on Saturday.
