Chalmers Presbyterian Church, at 342 Pond Mills Rd., is holding a hibernation sale today from 9 a.m. to noon, offering books, puzzles, games and movies to keep you occupied during the winter months. Baked goods also will be available.

You don’t need a drop of Scottish blood in you to enjoy Scottish country dancing. And you don’t need a partner. Anniversary season

The London Singers community choir, under conductor David Weaver, starts its 25th anniversary season.

Church anniversary

Art lecture series

The Dynamic Duos is a four-part lecture series by art historian Sonia Halpern running Mondays, 2 to 3:30 p.m., from Sept. 16 to Oct. 7, that explores the relationships, art, and historical context of famous artistic couples. With a balancing act of mutual support, internal competition, and unequivocal admiration, these lectures will reveal how the artists were positively and negatively affected by their partner’s life and body of work.
