A woman was fighting for her life in hospital after a vehicle struck her Monday night in London, police say.

Emergency crews were called shortly after 8 p.m. to Huron and Adelaide streets in northeast London for a collision involving a pedestrian, police said Tuesday.
The female pedestrian was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, police said.

Police closed the intersection for several hours and asked motorists to avoid the area, as a drone flew overhead, but it has since been reopened.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area of Huron and Adelaide streets between 8 to 8:15 p.m., including anyone with surveillance or dashboard-camera footage, to contact London police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
This is the second time a pedestrian has been seriously injured in a collision in London in the past week. A man suffered life-threatening injuries after a vehicle struck him at Oxford and First streets on the afternoon of Dec. 4, last Wednesday. The driver remained at the scene and the crash remains under investigation, police said.
Stolen trailer recovered, man charged
A man faces charges after police recovered a trailer reported stolen from west of London.
Ontario Provincial Police officers from the Middlesex and Oxford county detachments, along with members of the emergency response unit, searched a property on Melbourne Road in Adelaide Metcalfe, west of London, on Friday.
Investigators recovered a trailer that had been reported stolen out of London, the OPP said.
An Adelaide Metcalfe man, 45, is charged with possession of property under $5,000 obtained by crime.
