The Visitors’ Centre at Bruce Power is gearing up for another busy summer.
Bruce Power welcomed over 10,000 people to the Visitors’ Centre in 2022, and it expects the summer bus tours to be popular again this year.
The narrated tours of the 2,300-acre nuclear power generating station will be offered Monday through Friday in June, July, and August, except on statutory holidays. There will be one tour per day in June and three per day in July and August.
The tours begin at the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre, located at 3394 County Road 20 north of Tiverton. Visitors can view a short video and engage with exhibits on the production of cancer-fighting medical isotopes, Bruce Power’s Major Component Replacement Projects, and its history as a nuclear power company.
The participants will board a bus for a one-hour, narrated tour of the facility. There will be security checks of each adult’s government-issued picture identification. Pre-registration at www.brucepower.com/bustours is strongly advised, but a few walk-in slots are available each day
Meantime, Bruce Power is also getting ready for its annual celebration of community support in downtown Port Elgin on July 29. Bruce Power FunFest events include dog and reptile shows, children’s entertainment, face painting, free food, and fireworks over the Main Beach at dusk.
