How Michigan is trying to stop the box tree moth
Michigan boxwood trees are in danger this season because of the invasive box tree moth, which can completely defoliate a plant in just a few weeks. The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued a quarantine for 13 districts in southeast Michigan to try to prevent the moths from spreading. To reduce the spread of the moths, people should dispose of the plants safely by double-bagging infested plants and bringing them to municipal waste sites.
