The Supreme Court has sided with Michigan in ruling that the state’s lawsuit seeking to shut down a section of an aging pipeline beneath a Great Lakes channel will stay in state court. SCOTUS said the pipeline’s owner missed the deadline to move the lawsuit to federal court.But meanwhile, another pending lawsuit argues Michigan doesn’t have the authority to shut down the pipeline – only the federal government does.
