The rain finally came and, boy, did it make a difference in both lawn and garden.

As the colours of spring flowers have faded and the summer heat has played havoc on many of our plants, you might notice the wow factor has faded from your garden.

I’m a planner and listmaker, and with summer about half over, I’ve been reading through my garden journal. And I’ve begun to notice all the notes I made about spring-flowering bulbs and what I want to plant where.

We’re more than halfway through 2022, where did the time go? It feels like we were just waking up the garden and getting things ready for the season.

I’m often asked, “How many plants do I need to fill a space?” This can be challenging to answer, but I’ll try my best.
