London Police Service celebrates Ontario Police Week

Londoners will have a chance to visit police headquarters or sit down with an officer over coffee for Police Week 2023.

Police Week is observed across Ontario from May 14 to May 20, recognizing the efforts of front-line police officers, 911 communicators, civilian staff members.

The theme for this year’s Police Week is “Building Bridges: Celebrating Police-Community Partnerships.” In true fashion, London police are welcoming local residents to interact with officers at a number of events this week.

Community members are invited to “Coffee with a Cop” at two locations this week. The event is scheduled for Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the 385 Wellington Road South McDonalds. Thursday morning’s Coffee with a Cop will take place at the 1950 Dundas Street East McDonalds during the same time frame.

On Saturday, the London Police Service is offering a tour of their headquarters. You must book a time slot ahead of time. Registration is free.

Ontario’s Police Week is sponsored by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police  and the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General as part of National Police Week.
