Woman dies in hospital days after London apartment fire

The London Police Service (LPS) has confirmed that a woman who firefighters rescued from a burning building has passed away.

On March 24 around 1:20 a.m., emergency crews were called to a fire at 571 Adelaide Street North – a multi-level apartment situated near London’s Old East Village.

The fire department said an individual was discovered on the third floor of the building and taken to hospital with injuries described as “critical.”

That person has now died, according to police. She remained in hospital at the time of her death.

Officers said there is no evidence of foul play.

Per the Wednesday statement from LPS, the victim’s identity will not be made public.
