Kincardine’s Good Food Box receives donation

A $1,000 donation has been made to the Good Food Box program by the Knox Presbyterian Church in Kincardine.

The Good Food Box program is operated by volunteers across Grey Bruce. It’s a collective buying program that provides a grocery bin of fresh seasonal produce for only $20.

This donation will go towards the Neighbours to Neighbours Initiative, which allows agencies or individuals to purchase Good Food Boxes for households in need. About 50 local families will benefit from this donation alone.

Starting November 7, pre-orders will be done at a new location. To order a Good Food Box, you can visit the UBC Local 2222 at 385 Queen Street South Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Pre-orders must be placed by the third Thursday of the month. Pickup time will be the fourth Thursday of the month from 9:30 a.m. until noon at the Knox Presbyterian Church in Kincardine.

Pickup is also available in Ripley for those who indicate it when ordering and pre-paying.  Pickup time is fourth Thursday of the month from 10:0 0.a.m till noon at 50 Park Street.
