London police are investigating a third shooting in the past week after a gunshot victim showed up at hospital.

For the second time this week, hospital officials alerted police after a gunshot victim arrived seeking treatment.

In the most recent case, police were alerted on Wednesday around 3:25 a.m. to a man with serious but non-life threatening injuries from gunfire, police said.

Investigators don’t know where the shooting happened and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

“While this is the city’s third reported shooting in under a week, investigators do not believe that the incidents are related at this time,” acting Det.-Insp. Jeff Ordronneau, the head of the organized crime and support branch, said in a statement.

The latest case of gunfire comes just four days after a man showed up at hospital on Sunday with a gunshot injury that wasn’t considered life-threatening. Ontario law requires workers at hospitals and health-care clinics to notify police whenever a patient seeks treatment for a potential gunshot wound.

Days earlier, a man was critically injured in daytime shooting at a northeast London public housing complex.

Investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for Cody Leblanc-Ashe, 28, for attempted murder in the shooting at a Boullee Street complex at 4:20 p.m. on Sept. 11.

Leblanc isn’t the only suspect wanted in a connection with a shooting who’s still on the lam.

Police are still searching for Dean Robert Dickieson, 31, on charges of discharging a firearm with intent to wound or endanger life, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm and using a firearm during the commission of an indictable offence.
