Investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for Cody Leblanc Ashe, 28, of London on a charge of attempted murder, police said.
Police released a photo of Leblanc Ashe, a Black man who is six feet four inches tall and weighs about 230 pounds. He has a medium build, black hair, scruffy facial hair, black goatee and brown eyes.
Members of the public shouldn’t approach Leblanc Ashe, who is considered armed and dangerous, and should called 911 immediately, police said.
A resident at the Boullee Street complex, which is operated by London and Middlesex Community Housing, told The Free Press he saw two men arguing in front of a row of townhomes on Wednesday before one of them pulled out a handgun from a satchel-style bang and opened fire on the other one. The witness asked not to be identified for fear of retribution.
The gunfire, the fifth case in London this year, left the front door of a unit in the complex pock-marked with bullet holes. Ronnie Chisholm, who was inside the unit visiting a friend, reported hearing what he initially thought was pounding on the door before he soon saw an injured man behind the home where blood stains were visible on the steps to the back door and back patio.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call London police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
