OHL releases 2024-25 schedule, Attack begin Sept. 27 in Guelph

The new-look Owen Sound Attack will first take to the ice for the 2024-25 regular season on Friday, Sept. 27, in Guelph, and return to the Bayshore the next night to take on the Storm at home.

The Ontario Hockey League released its regular season schedule on Tuesday.

Owen Sound begins and ends their season against the Storm, with the final regular season game scheduled for March 22, 2025, at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.

The home half of the Attack’s 2024-25 schedule will see the Attack play 24 weekend home games, including 20 Saturdays and four Sundays, as well as 10 weeknight games, including one Monday, eight Wednesday and one Friday.

Game times for the 24-25 season at the Bayshore will be similar to last season with the team playing at 2 p.m on Sundays. Weeknight and Saturday night games start at 7 p.m., except for two games, Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, against Saginaw and Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, against Ottawa, which will be 4 p.m. start times.

For the Attack road trip fans, the Attack will do their southwestern Ontario/Michigan weekend the weekend of October 24 to 27, taking on Windsor on Thursday night, then enjoying an off day, before playing Flint and Saginaw on Saturday and Sunday.

In November, the Bears will head east taking on Peterborough, Kingston and Ottawa, the weekend of November 14 to 17. The Attack will cross the border to Pennsylvania to play their annual doubleheader against Erie on March 7 and 8.

Key league dates on the schedule include the creation of an inaugural OHL Top Prospects event for players eligible for the NHL Draft. Recently approved by the OHL Board of Governors, the best-on-best showcase will take place in January at an OHL venue that will be announced, along with accompanying event details in the future.

Divisional alignment remains the same for 2024-25 with a 68-game unbalanced schedule. Teams will play out-of-conference opponents a minimum of two times (one home, one away) while most teams play intra-conference teams a minimum of four times (including two games at home and two on the road. Intra-divisional teams will play each other up to six times and in some cases, closest rivals will play each other up to eight times.

The schedule runs through Sunday, March 23, 2025, before teams compete in the OHL Playoffs for the J. Ross Robertson Cup with the goal of competing for the Memorial Cup that will be hosted next spring in Rimouski, Quebec.

March 22 — Guelph at Owen Sound (last game of the 2024-25 regular season)
