The festival will take place on Wednesday (June 19) at the Galaxy Cinemas on the Sunset Strip in Georgian Bluffs just outside Owen Sound. Doors open to the free public event at 4:30 p.m. with the screening to begin at 5:15 p.m.

This year, the audience will be treated to a screening of 11 short films, which will be followed by an awards ceremony announcing the winners of this year’s festival, it said in a news release.

Among the films featured in this year’s festival are a high-stakes drone chase, calls to climate activism, a very important birthday interview, a comedic murder mystery and a reflection on the difficulty of finding connection in a new place.

Films screened at the festival are created for a teen audience and may contain scenes some viewers may find disturbing, therefore viewer discretion is advised, the release noted.

The festival is organized by the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library, with the participation and sponsorship of Galaxy Cinemas Owen Sound, Richard Thomas Communications, Wightman, Rogers TV Grey County, the Meaford International Film Festival, United Way of Bruce Grey, Bruce County Public Library, Grey Highlands Public Library, Hanover Public Library, Meaford Public Library, Southgate Public Library and West Grey Public Library.
