John Diefenbaker Senior School runner Ava Moric added to her staggering OFSAA medal count with a bronze medal in the senior girls’ 1,500-metre race. Making her debut in the senior class this year, Moric previously won gold as a junior athlete in the 3,000-metre and 1,500-metre distances last year in Ottawa, and in those same distances as a novice at OFSAA just over a year earlier.

Meanwhile, Kincardine’s Adalee Turland placed second with a throw of 11.56 metres in the novice girls’ shot put behind Jenna Tunks to earn a silver medal.

The three-day Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations track and field championships took place in London from June 6 to 8.

Up to 2,800 athletes from over 500 schools competed at Western Alumni Stadium.
