SHANE RINK WINS MAJOR CURLING LEAGUE CROWN
Skip Les Shane along with Pete Newton (third), Derek Regier (second) Jim Roberts (lead) and Tim Church (fifth), won the 2023-24 BrokerLink Insurance Grey-Bruce Major Curling League championship. The Ainsdale Golf Course sponsored rink from the Kincardine Curling Club topped Joe Rettinger’s squad out of Walkerton with a steal of one in the eighth end for a final score of 8-7 on Valentine’s Day in Paisley. It’s the first championship win in the GBMCL for the Shane rink. Don Bartley (Abasulte Automotive) beat Brett McAllister (Denomy TV & Appliances) in the B Final, while Scott Davidson (Holiday Inn Express & Suites) beat Al Hutchinson (Merit Insurance) in the C Final.
