Woman charged in Aylmer park sexual assault

A 52-year-old woman is accused of accosting and sexually assaulting another woman at a park in Aylmer.

Aylmer police were called about the alleged incident around 2 p.m. last Thursday.

A woman told police she was at Balmoral Park when another woman walked up to her and began making “forward comments” about her appearance. A man joined the woman in making uncomfortable comments toward the other woman.

When the woman tried to walk away from the pair, she was allegedly touched inappropriately by the other woman.

A Waterloo Region woman was arrested and has since been charged with sexual assault. She has been released from police custody with a future court date.
