Man charged for threatening to murder Aylmer police officers

Charges have been laid against a 33-year-old man after Aylmer police repeatedly received threatening phone calls.

The police service said the calls came in over several weeks. But last week became more pointed when a male caller told a dispatcher he was planning to murder officers.

Police launched an investigation and identified a suspect.

An Aylmer man has been arrested and charged with uttering threats to cause death. The accused has since been released from police custody.

He is scheduled to appear in St. Thomas court in relation to the charge in June.
