Owen Sound Police have charged two suspects in connection with a string of break and enters.
Police say the arrests were prompted after investigating a break-in at a restaurant along Highway 6 & 10 on April 24.
Later that day, officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at a residence on the upper east side of Owen Sound. There, they located a safe that was stolen from the business and arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the theft.
After obtaining a warrant to search the residence, police say they found a significant sum of Canadian currency that was taken from the restaurant. They also found items that had been reported stolen in other break and enters in Owen Sound and the surrounding area. They arrested and charged a 31-year-old woman in connection with the crimes.
“It’s very satisfying to be able to get people’s property back and return it, especially when it means so much to them,” said Detective Constable Nick Houston.
The Owen Sound Police Service would like to thank the public for its assistance throughout this investigation but note as the matter remains open, there will be no further information provided at this time.
