An arrest warrant has been issued for a 41-year-old London man accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside a downtown bar and then firing a gun after he was removed from the establishment.
London police called to investigate the incident determined the man approached a woman he did not know while inside the establishment around 12:50 a.m. on Saturday. He proceeded to sexually assault the woman, police said.
Security kicked the man out following the assault, at which time he is said to have used a handgun to fire shots at the building, hitting the door. Witnesses reportedly saw the man pull the handgun, police said.
No one was physically injured.
Police used video surveillance and witness descriptions to identify a suspect.
Kwabena Andrew Anhwere, 41, of London has been charged by way of warrant with sexual assault, assault, discharging a firearm with intent to wound/endanger life or prevent arrest, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, and four counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
Anhwere has not been arrested and on Monday police released a photo of him to the public in hopes of tracking him down.
Anyone who sees him is advised not to approach him but to call 911 immediately as he should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
