Home sales in Grey-Bruce-Owen Sound were down substantially last month, when compared to March of last year.
The Realtors Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound reports 217 units were sold last month, a drop of 19 per cent from March 2022. However, the real estate board said the number of sales were up in Grey Bruce Owen Sound in March compared to February.
The MLS Home Price Index composite benchmark price was $534,700 in March 2023. That was a 15.5 per cent decline from March 2022. The total value of homes sold last month added up to $134 million, down 33.7 per cent from a year ago. Meantime, the year-to-date average price retreated by 19.5 per cent year-over-year to $611,490.
The 406 new listings added last month represented a 12.2 per cent improvement from March 2022. Active listings were 38.3 per cent above the five-year average for the month of March.
