Charges have been laid against two men from Toronto in a shooting in downtown London that sent a man to hospital with serious injuries.
London police were called about a person believed to have a gun near Dundas and William streets around 6:30 p.m. Friday. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries and has since been treated and released.
A suspect was arrested and a firearm was seized, police said.
A 22-year-old and a 27-year-old, both from Toronto, have since been charged with discharging a firearm with intent.
The 27-year-old is additionally charged with possession of a restricted firearm, careless storage of ammunition, carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a firearm, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
The 22-year-old was also charged with public mischief to divert suspicion, failure to comply with release order, and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
Both of the accused appear in court in relation to the charges on Saturday.
A third suspect is still being sought in the case, police said on Monday.
That individual is described as a Black man, who was last seen wearing a grey hooded jacket, dark coloured pants, and black shoes with white soles.
