Citizen rescued from rail car in east London

London firefighters worked quickly to free a person trapped inside a rail car in the city’s east end Monday evening.

According to the fire department, crews responded to the railway tracks on Oxford Street, east of Clarke Road, just before 6 p.m. for a report of an individual stuck inside one of the train cars.

Tech Rescue Technicians managed to extricate the trapped person by using a platform aerial to lift them out.

The citizen was treated for unknown injuries on the scene before they were taken to hospital by paramedics.

It has not been made clear how the person got stuck.

Crews cleared the scene within an hour after they were called.
