A man who had been wanted since January in connection with a violent home invasion in St. Thomas has been arrested.
St. Thomas police confirmed Wednesday 33-year-old Daniel Corlett was taken into custody the previous afternoon by Sarnia police.
Investigators had been searching for Corlett since a person was assaulted at a north St. Thomas home during an early morning home invasion January 29. At the time police said two suspects forced their way inside, attacked the homeowner before running from the scene.
Police got an arrest warrant for Corlett later the same day and advised the public not to approach the 33-year-old if seen.
The 33-year-old has been charged with 17 offences in relation to the home invasion including assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm or ammunition, breaking and entering, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, failure to comply with an undertaking, failure to comply with a release order, and failure to comply with a probation order.
Corlett was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.
