15-year-old charged in knife-point robbery

Charges have been laid against a 15-year-old after a knife-point convenience store hold-up in Strathroy.

A person walked into the Circle K convenience store at 7 Front Street East around 8:45 p.m on Saturday, pulled a knife and demanded cigarettes from the clerk. After receiving a quantity of smokes, the person took off from the store, Strathroy-Caradoc police said.

The clerk was not hurt.

Police were called and a suspect was arrested shortly after.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with robbery with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The teen was held in custody pending a bail hearing. He has since been released and is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges Monday.
