Maple syrup producers partner with county for month-long festival

Huron County’s Economic Development Department has teamed up with local maple syrup producers to launch a new Food Festival this month.

Economic Development Officer Rick Sickinger says it’s called Maple Mania and they’ll have events running throughout the month.

“We have events running throughout the month of March celebrating Huron County as a major maple syrup producer. From March 1st to the 31st we have bakeries and cafes across Huron County who are making specialty maple-infused treats,” Sickinger shared.

Sickinger says there will also be sugar bush tours and demonstrations.

“There will be sugar bush tours and demonstrations running at several maple syrup producers and programming around maple taffee making and we’ll be holding the Great Maple Mania Bake-off at the Huron County Museum at 3 p.m. on March 18,” added Sickinger.
