Partial roof collapse prompts East Lions Community Centre to close

The East Lions Community Centre is closed after a portion of the roof collapsed Friday night.

According to a statement from the City of London, a portion of the roof and soffit outside the East Lions Community Centre in London’s Argyle neighbourhood came loose and fell to the ground.

“Staff responded quickly and the building was secured,” the statement read.

Structural engineers have been called to the site to assess the damage and determine the cause.

All recreation programming is cancelled at East Lions Community Centre until an assessment is complete.
