Road rage incident leads to high-risk takedown by Stratford police

A man is facing charges after an incident involving a firearm in Stratford.

Stratford Police received a report of a man that had been threatened with a firearm and a hammer on Maple Avenue just after 12:00 p.m. on February 13. A license plate for the vehicle was provided by a witness, and led police to a residence on Home Street.

An arrest was made following what police are calling a “high-risk takedown.” A vehicle searched after the arrest resulted in the discovery of a firearm, a hammer, a small sword, and a length of metal pipe.

A 33-year-old North Perth resident faces several charges, including pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and uttering threats.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on March 27, 2023 to answer to the charges.
