A driver from Flesherton is facing a number of charges following a recent speeding incident in Wellington North.
An officer with Wellington County OPP spotted a grey sedan at 2 a.m. on February 15 that was allegedly travelling at 135 km/h on Wellington Road 16 in Wellington North Township. The officer pulled over the vehicle, and during the traffic stop, the officer spotted what ended up being 34,000 unmarked cigarettes, as well as a suspected quantity of methamphetamine.
As a result, a 39-year-old resident of Flesherton has been charged with numerous offences including possession of unmarked cigarettes, speeding, stunt driving and other drug-related offences.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on April 11 to answer to the charges.
