$15K of drugs seized during raid in Woodstock

A Woodstock man faces a half dozen charges relating to a drug investigation in the city last week.

During a warrant search at home on last Friday, members of the Woodstock Police Service’s Criminal Intelligence and Drug Enforcement Unit, WPS Containment Team, Canine, and Community Response Units reportedly seized illicit substances including fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, $3,215 in Canadian cash and stolen property.

Investigators estimated the substances retrieved held a street value of over $15,700.

As a result, the 34-year-old accused is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of property under $5,000 obtained by crime, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and failing to comply with a probation order.

The man was held in police custody for a court appearance on Wednesday.
