With heavy snow expected to hammer most of southwestern Ontario throughout the day Wednesday, school buses have been cancelled for areas surrounding London.
Buses for Middlesex, Oxford, and Elgin counties and the Red Zone won’t be on the road Wednesday, according to MyBigYellowBus.ca. To see the full list of bus cancellations click here.
School vehicles in the City of London will be running on schedule.
The decision to cancel the buses outside of the city for the day came as a Texas low began to move into the region. Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for most of southwestern Ontario including London-Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin. The national weather agency expected up to 15 cm to fall by Thursday morning, however, the heaviest snow will taper off to flurries overnight.
The London District Catholic and Thames Valley District school boards have confirmed all schools will be open on Wednesday, despite buses being cancelled in many areas.
