Collision leaves pedestrian seriously hurt in Byron

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Bryon.

Emergency crews were called to the collision on Commissioners Road West at Grand View Avenue around 6:20 a.m. on Friday.

Paramedics took the pedestrian to hospital with what have been described as “serious” injuries.

The vehicle involved did remain at the scene, police confirmed.

No other details about the collision have been provided, with police noting they are in the early stages of the investigation.

Officers with the traffic management unit have been on scene probing the incident throughout the morning.

Commissioners Road West between Chestnut Hill and Grand View Avenue is closed to all traffic. There is no word on when the stretch of road will be reopened.
