Loaded gun, over $23K worth of drugs seized by London police

London police seized a loaded handgun and more than $23,000 worth of cocaine and Oxycodone pills in a bust that ended with two people charged.

Officers with the guns and gangs section and emergency response unit searched a home and vehicle on Dundas Street on Wednesday.

According to police, officers found 227 grams of cocaine, 108 TEC/Oxycodone pills, a loaded .22 calibre handgun and 33 additional rounds of ammunition, a digital scale, baggies and packaging and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The drugs are estimated to be worth $23,240, police said.

Two London men, aged 25 and 26, have been charged with seven offences including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a restricted firearm without a licence, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, careless storage of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of a firearm obtained by crime.

The 26-year-old is set to appear in court in relation to the charges on Thursday, while the 25-year-old is scheduled to appear on March 3.
