Huron County OPP have laid charges against an individual following a recent arson investigation.
On January 10 at 8 a.m., police and the Huron East Fire Department responded to a suspicious fire located at a multi-unit apartment building on Market Street in Seaforth. All residents inside the building had to be evacuated. The investigation revealed a male suspect had allegedly started a fire inside the entrance of the apartment building, causing smoke damage. The dollar value of the damage to the building has yet to be established.
As a result, police have arrested and charged a 31-year-old of no fixed address with arson disregard for human life and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order. The accused has been remanded into custody.
