Various hospitals throughout Perth and Wellington counties are to receive $4.3 million for important upgrades, repairs, and maintenance projects. The funding will be provided through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund (HIRF).
Four local hospitals will benefit from this grant – Listowel Memorial Hospital, North Wellington Health Care Corporation, St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, and Stratford General Hospital. Ontario is providing a total of $175 million to hospitals across the province.
“Our government is making investments to ensure Ontario’s hospitals and community health infrastructure continue to be state-of-the-art facilities,” said Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health. “This funding will also help build the capacity we need to end hallway health care and ensure people continue to receive world-class care.”
The $4.3 million will be divided as follows:
• Stratford General Hospital – $2,222,335
• Listowel Memorial Hospital – $1,086,510
• North Wellington Health Care Corporation – $560,936
• St. Marys Memorial Hospital – $494,511
Other nearby facilities such as Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Guelph General Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Health Care will also benefit from the grant.
