Woodstock court house security check turns up meth

A man is facing charges after an ill-fated decision to try to carry drugs into the Woodstock courthouse.

According to the Woodstock Police Service, special constables were conducting security checks at the entrance to the court house on Tuesday morning. Around 9:50 a.m., they stopped a man and found what appeared to be drugs in his possession.

Police were called and an investigating determined that the drugs were methamphetamine.

A 64-year-old man from Mitchell is charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance.
