There was a common theme to much of the discussion at last week’s Huron County council meeting.
The discussions ranged from climate change to labour shortages to the shortage of housing, but the common theme was we are clearly living in a changing world.
Warden Glen McNeil said it’s something that Huron County council has to be focused on.
“Challenges we had ten years ago are not the challenges of today and the challenges that will present themselves in ten years, or five years. We have to be thinking of those now and be proactive to make those decisions,” explained McNeil.
McNeil added they also have to be flexible enough to react accordingly when something unanticipated shows up.
“We need to be visionary in our thought process and being proactive to address future issues that will be coming our way and it is inappropriate to wait until it is an issue. We need to think and make proactive decisions in advance,” said McNeil.
