A joint police investigation and raid led to the seizure of cocaine and opioids.
Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police detachments in Elgin, Oxford, Brant, Lambton, Haldimand, and Norfolk searched two locations in West Elgin and a third location in Dutton-Dunwich on October 27.
“Investigators seized over $2500 in cash and a variety of illicit and prescription drugs,” police said.
The searches came after a man was arrested in Chatham-Kent.
That man, a 38-year-old from West Elgin, is now charged with five counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine and opioids other than heroin) and one count of possession of a Schedule 3 substance. He is also charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order.
The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing.
