Changes to electricity prices in Ontario took effect on Tuesday.
Winter time-of-use rates are in place from November 1 until the end of April.
The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) has also announced a drop in electricity prices for residential and small business customers.
During on-peak hours, 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, customers will now pay 15.1 cents per kilowatt hour, down from 17.0 cents per kilowatt hour last winter.
The OEB reminds customers who may be struggling to pay their bills, support programs are available, such as the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program.
Customers are also reminded that there’s a ban on electricity and natural gas disconnections from November 15 to April 30.
