Truck driver involved in fatal crash identified

Lambton OPP have identified a driver from St. Thomas who died after a collision near Alvinston sent several people to hospital.

A crash involving a transport truck and a passenger vehicle was reported Tuesday morning at around 10:10 a.m., on Courtright Line at Inwood Road.

The area was closed to traffic until 3 a.m. Wednesday.

OPP initially said six people were taken to hospital but later announced that one person had died.

Police said the truck driver was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a hospital. The driver has been identified as 67-year-old Cameron Wilcox of St. Thomas.

The investigation is ongoing.
