Gun tip leads to seizure of nearly $19K worth of fentanyl, meth

Four people have been charged after a tip about a gun led London police to an east-end home where nearly $19,000 worth of fentanyl and methamphetamine were found.

Members of the police guns and gangs section, emergency response unit, and uniformed division searched a Hamilton Road home on Tuesday after receiving a tip that there were unwanted people there with a firearm.

Police seized a loaded handgun, 44 grams of fentanyl, 50 grams of methamphetamine, and approximately $1,840 in cash. The value of the drugs found is $18,700, police said.

Two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old from Toronto and a 55-year-old woman of no fixed address were arrested. They are charged with nine offences including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, and careless storage of a firearm.

Three of the accused are scheduled to appear in London court on Wednesday, while the fourth is set to appear on September 30.
