Man arrested and charged following break-in theft at local business

Perth County OPP have arrested and charged one person following a break-and-enter theft at a local business.

On August 3rd, police received a report of a break-and-enter theft at a business on Line 34 in the Township of Perth East. The business has a monitored security system. Officers were alerted after a motion alarm was set off. Police arrested a male leaving the area with a bag containing stolen property from the business. As a result, a 20-year-old Perth South man has been charged with Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada, Obstruct Peace Officer, Resist Peace Officer and Assault A Peace Officer with a weapon.

The accused was held in police custody pending a bail hearing. Anyone with any information regarding this crime should contact Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
